Guide to year-end car buying

December is traditionally the month when manufacturers provide extra incentives to move vehicles and make their annual numbers look strong. Luxury brands in particular use year-end specials to clear out inventory and bolster interest in new models, spending extensively on campaigns such as Lexus’ “December to Remember,” BMW’s “Happier New Year” and Mercedes-Benz’ “Winter Event.”

These offers can be tricky to wade through but may add up to significant savings. The car buying experts at Cartelligent are here to make sure you have a great experience getting a fantastic deal on the car you want.

Cartelligent has put together a list of tips to help you navigate the murky waters of year-end sales and best prepare for your initial call with Cartelligent.

Start Your Search Early

With our expertise and buying power, we can negotiate “End of the Year” deals for you with many brands all month long. We can often reserve and secure a car for you that is in transit from the factory and still allow you to take advantage of year-end savings. Additionally, you should be aware that the discounted cars remaining in inventory in the last week of December may be less popular models and colors. Calling early increases your options to take advantage of end of year savings and get the car you really want.

Consider Multiple Manufacturers

Because each manufacturer has its own incentives and financing offers, we may be able to get you a much better deal on a similar car made by a competing brand. If you’re not absolutely convinced that one brand or car model is the only car you are willing to consider driving, opening your search to other brands may result in a better deal on a similar vehicle.

Leasing May Yield Additional Savings

Cartelligent can help you take advantage of a number of lease specific incentives that can save you thousands of dollars off the price of the car. We may be able to help you get out of your current lease by arranging for a lease buy out or payment waiver if you decide to lease the same brand again. These are manufacturer specific such as a two year old Audi being turned in early when a new Audi is leased and are typically within three to six months of lease end. Your Cartelligent agent can help you with additional information about your specific brand.
